Pure Barre Darien Coming Soon!

FFC411 is very excited to announce that one of their besties is opening a Pure Barre studio in Darien! This is very convenient as Pure Barre is the only exercise, aside from some recreational bike riding, that  I've done since college so I'll actually be able to support this venture with my attendance and not just my writing! And hopefully that speaks volumes to how much fun and addicting Pure Barre is, even to a non-workerouter!

The new studio will be located at 313 Heights Rd in the Noroton Heights Shopping Center. Perfect for FFC411 as we can grab a delicious hot dog from Franks & Frites after our workout : ) My moto is calories out, calories in!

Plans are to open in early November and until they open they are running these great pre-opening specials! All customers are considered new customers and if you have a mindbody account from another studio you can use that to sign in.

5 WEEKS UNLIMITED :: $150
4 MONTHS UNLIMITED :: $500

Available on their website http://purebarre.com/ct-darien/. Even if you only attend 6 classes in 5 weeks the special is a better deal!

They are still posting their schedule but will be offering classes all throughout the day - targeting 6am, 8:30am, 9:45am, noon, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7pm. I also know a few of the instructors and they are peppy, fun and sure to run a great class!

They will also have a retail space offering lululemon and other awesome speciality work out brands. The perfect holiday gift - a PB gift certificate and some new gear!

So join now to Lift, Tone, Burn into the holidays!

Follow them on Facebook for studio updates. How cute are they?

Free Pure Barre Classes

We love the lululemon manifesto - dance, sing, floss and travel; friends are more important than money; jealousy works the opposite way you want it to; this is not your practice life, this is all there is; do one thing a day that scares you. These are certainly all wonderful words to live by. Here at FFC411 we are going to try to take some of these more to heart! The month of March is dedicated to lululemons Sweat Once A Day goal and our favorite new gym Pure Barre is participating with free PB classes every Saturday for the month of March! Join Ashley and her team at 3pm to try your free class and I know you'll be hooked. I've never been to a gym class more than once and I'm heading into my third strong week at PB and loving it!

Hope to see you one Saturday this month!
March 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd at 3pm
www.purebarre.com

Also if you refer a friend to Pure Barre and they purchase the new client special ($125 for one month unlimited - vs the usual $225!) after their first class you'll receive $25 in Pure Barre Bucks!
*Be sure to say FFC411 sent you if you decide to join too : ) *

Pure Barre

I can be more than 100% honest that this blogger does not exercise! However after too many tasty treats this holiday season, a trip out west this month where I need my ski legs toned up and the prospect of wearing a bathing suit looming, this girl decided it was time to hit the gym! I can't get motived to work out on my own so I knew a class would be the answer and with serendipitous timing a new Pure Barre studio opened up right down the street. We went to our first class last week and I have to say it was a hit - never boring, fun music, worked on all my problem areas and I still feel a little sore just in time for class #2. (I'm going back for class #2 - that is a first in and of itself!)
Pretty!
Check them out at purebarre.com/CT-greenwich: great class times before and after work, easy online sign up and inexpensive packages.

Now I need to spruce up my workout wardrobe!

Swell Bottle

Is one of your new years resolutions to drink more water? Mine always is! But I find I'm constantly drinking out of old plastic water bottles at my desk and when the weekend rolls around I'm always water-less and desperately thirsty by early afternoon. I've never been a fan of traditional water bottles due to their bulky size and huge mouth openings but the look of this one has really caught my eye and I think it will inspire me to drink my 60oz of water a day! My favorite aspect is that the bottle look like a wine bottle, so chic - and they even make larger sizes to hold chilled wine for picnics or boat rides. Streamlined bottles (17oz) fit in car cup holders but have a wide enough mouth opening to allow for ice. No more canteen style water bottles necessary! They even make a 9oz size for lunch boxes or little drinkers.

I love these matte styles - the hot pink has my name on it for sure!
750ml to keep your favorite wine chilled or tote a warm bottle of hot coco!
A special valentines day package:
his and hers water bottles with a large bottle for wine or champagne

SUP?

No, no, I'm not trying to bring the 90's back - I'm talking about stand-up paddle boarding! It's supposed to be a warm and sunny weekend so what better time to hit the water and get some exercise at the same time. My new favorite find of last summer was stand-up paddle boarding at Downunder Kayaking in Rowayton.  It is so much fun, a great way to see all the beautiful houses on the river, good exercise and a really fun outing with friends. We even went there as a team building activity for work!

And this summer Downunder has opened a wonderful new location in Westport. I just got to see it this week and it's huge! Great building, year round surf shop, tons of dock space and the perfect launch for a beautiful tour of the Saugatuck River. Grab some friends, sign up for a tour or a lesson, or just get a quick tutorial at the dock. We even brought a cooler of beers to rest on the front of our board to enjoy down the river, and if you have a dog who loves the water (and standing still) bring them along, they can perch right up front as well! They do offer kayaking and other water sports but SUP is so much fun, if you haven't tried it you have to get out there!

And if you're lucky enough to have summer hours this friday then head to the Rowayton location, you can go paddle boarding, grab some lunch at Rowayton Market above Downunder, hit the Farmers Market and stay on for Shakespere on the Sound! Otherwise shoot up to Westport this weekend and check out their newest location and cruise over to Viva Zapata after for a frosty margarita outside!

Westport - 575 Riverside Ave (203)956-6217
Rowayton - 157 Rowayton Ave (203)642-3660

SUP Board $25 for 1 hr, $15 for an additional hour, $60 for 1/2 day, $90 for the day
Lessons $45 for 1 hr beginner, $100 for 1 hr private. Also available for parties and group outings. Reservations for boards recommended - especially on the weekends. Call for availability.
