Shakespeare on the Sound

For what I think might be the 14th time I want to say this is the year I will go to Shakespeare on the Sound but somehow every year it gets away from me and unfortunately I don't think this one will be any different - someday I'm going to get there, I have to! But YOU should go this year! Good thing is this year it's only in Rowayton so I believe you get some extra showings, over two weeks worth which means there are plenty of opportunities to make a trip.

Shows start tomorrow til June 30th, nightly at 7:30 except Mondays. Seating is first come, first serve starting at 4pm. Admission is free but suggestion donations of $20 a person are appreciated. You can call ahead for limited front row reservations for $50 per seat. Show ends at approximately 10:30. Ice cream, snacks and cold drinks will be available for sale in the park from Brendan's 101 - wine is not but can be purchased across the street at Rowayton Wine Shop. You can also bring pizza and salads from Rowayton Pizza or stop by Sails or Rowayton Seafood for an early dinner {we love a low key dinner on the dock from the Rowayton Seafood Market}

Summer Reading List 2013

It's one of my favorite things about summer - all these great beach reads and plenty of beautiful beach days to enjoy them! They say you can't judge a book by it's cover but I think that's exactly what you should do with a beach read, so below are their beautiful covers, pick your favorites and then click the link to read more about them! Here is my 2013 Summer Reading List...

I have to start the list with my favorite summer author, the wonderful Elin Hilderbrand and her new book Beautiful Day - I can't wait to read this over the 4th of July in Chatham! Available 6/25

Island Girls by Nancy Thayer, 6/18

Tao of Martha by Jen Lancaster (I just love Jen so much and I know this will be absolutely laugh out loud funny and there will be a pretty good chance she glitters one of her cats...)

Ladies Night by Mary Kay Andrews

Sweet Salt Air by Barbara Delinsky, 6/18

Lemon Orchard by Luanne Rice, 7/2

The Last Camellia by Sarah Jio (One of my newest favorite authors, if you haven't ready 2011's The Bungalow add that to your list immediately)

Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

The Last Original Wife by Dorothea Benton Frank, 6/11

Could these covers scream summer beach reading anymore? I just can't wait! Happy Reading!

Dishcrawl

I'm totally digging on this new idea from Dishcrawl (available in cities all around the country) - sign up for one of their local "crawls" for only $45 and you'll get to spend the evening cruising town to visit four different restaurants, sampling specialty dishes and meeting the chefs and owners that work behind the scenes. It's like a pub crawl for food and all restaurants are within walking distance. Use this as a group outing with friends, a great couples night out to meet other foodies - I even love the idea of this for a first date, the perfect way to keep conversation going and bond over your love of food! All restaurants are keep a secret prior to the event and participants are notified of their meeting location 48 hours before the event. All their events have sold out so far, we're bummed we missed tickets to the June 11th Dishcrawl in OG! Their most recent crawl on Greenwich Ave had guests visit Barcelona for appetizers, Maddy's Food Truck for authentic Caribbean cuisine, Sundown Saloon for Taco Tuesday and lastly Meli-Melo for ice cream and sorbet!

So don't miss out, there are still a few tickets left to the New Canaan Dishcrawls on August 27th and 28th. I think New Canaan is going to be an awesome location for this venture - such amazing new restaurants and wonderful old staples. Sure to be a blast!
