Free Pure Barre Classes

We love the lululemon manifesto - dance, sing, floss and travel; friends are more important than money; jealousy works the opposite way you want it to; this is not your practice life, this is all there is; do one thing a day that scares you. These are certainly all wonderful words to live by. Here at FFC411 we are going to try to take some of these more to heart! The month of March is dedicated to lululemons Sweat Once A Day goal and our favorite new gym Pure Barre is participating with free PB classes every Saturday for the month of March! Join Ashley and her team at 3pm to try your free class and I know you'll be hooked. I've never been to a gym class more than once and I'm heading into my third strong week at PB and loving it!

Hope to see you one Saturday this month!
March 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd at 3pm

Smooch A Pooch 2013

Last year I loved our Valentines photo with Smooch a Pooch to benefit ECAD. What's better than a few minutes to snuggle a little lab puppy! These guys couldn't have been cuter and I also loved meeting the trained service dogs. This Saturday head to Saks Fifth Avenue at 205 Greenwich Ave from 1-4 to support "Saks Loves Your Cause". Five percent of all register purchases made with your Saks card will be given back to your charity of choice - our local branch of the American Red Cross, the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich or ECAD (Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities). ECAD is an awesome non for profit that educates and places service dogs with veterans, children with autism or people with degenerative disabilities. Help them support this wonderful event by bringing your friends and family to Saks on Saturday. I know I could never turn down the opportunity to smooch one of these cuties!

Vacation Must Haves

We just booked some tickets to Florida for April and I can't wait for some warm sunshine! Even though we aren't headed south for quite awhile I can't stop perusing websites looking for great vacation must haves for this season. I love packing easy styles that can transition well from day to night - a great beach cover up that looks adorable with white jeans too, a casual day dress that can be glammed up with some jewelry for dinner out, great scarves that can add interest to an easy outfit and great layering pieces that pack well and don't wrinkle. Here are some of my favorites recently - these and a great book and I'm ready to hit the Keys!
Love these bright stripes!
Perfect as a tunic or a cover up
Bright easy graphic dresses are on my must
have list this season!

Loving this french halter from J.Crew!
The perfect dress - adorable for day, easy to dress up for night!
Think I need to add a denim jacket to my collection this year
The above outfit would be perfect with this summer scarf
Can't get enough Chambray - loving this shirt dress!

Coveting this adorable Fedora from Tory Burch!
Can't go on vacation without a great Tory Tunic
Loving these modern one-piece suits, if it weren't
for the tan lines I'd definitely be on board!

Ski Local

As we watched the forecast of snow storm Nemo swirl into the area we couldn't help but get excited about the prospect of some CT skiing! I haven't skied a local mountain since highschool but with CT expected to get more snow than VT it seemed the perfect opportunity to ski local! We decided Mohawk would be the mountain, the largest in the state and projected to get the most snow in the area. However we woke up Saturday morning and we were trapped! A road ban from the governor and no chance we'd find clear enough roads to make the hour and a half trip. Hmm guess that's the one issue with local skiing! We made the best of it with a fun day in Greenwich and crossed fingers for clear roads and clear skys on Sunday!

A beautiful snowy walk at Tod's Point
A delicious snow day lunch at the Beach House
Sunday morning we woke up to a warm sunny day and {sortve} clear roads! Mohawk was still claiming "epic" conditions - it's all relative right?! - so we decided to hit the road. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised, Mohawk had awesome snow, great facilities, a "mid-mountain" lodge complete with waitress service, enough trail options to keep us entertained, inexpensive lift tickets and super nice people! The trip couldn't have been easier either, despite the slow going travel, and with night skiing from 4pm-10pm we definitely plan on going back for a fun Saturday road trip with friends.

46 Great Hollow Rd, Cornwall CT
Open til 10pm Monday-Saturday for Night Skiing

Hmm still not too much available highway!

Still plenty of fresh snow!

It's name sake trail - haven't been here since 2000!
After skiing we decided to go in search of a fun Apres Ski lunch! Litchfield is just about 10 miles from the mountain and we knew they were sure to have a quaint cozy spot we'd enjoy. The drive was beyond beautiful blanketed in so much snow and the town looked straight out of a picture book. We chose The Village Restaurant (mostly due to the Guinness sign in the window) and enjoyed the perfect post ski snacks!

Adorable town of Litchfield CT
Perfect Apres Ski lunch!

I even finally got to visit Cara's beautiful new store! It was AMAZING and if I wasn't still wearing all my ski gear and traveling with a hungry husband I definitely could have done some serious damage! I can't wait to go back!

So gorgeous!
Plan your road trip!

Pure Barre

I can be more than 100% honest that this blogger does not exercise! However after too many tasty treats this holiday season, a trip out west this month where I need my ski legs toned up and the prospect of wearing a bathing suit looming, this girl decided it was time to hit the gym! I can't get motived to work out on my own so I knew a class would be the answer and with serendipitous timing a new Pure Barre studio opened up right down the street. We went to our first class last week and I have to say it was a hit - never boring, fun music, worked on all my problem areas and I still feel a little sore just in time for class #2. (I'm going back for class #2 - that is a first in and of itself!)
Pretty!
Check them out at purebarre.com/CT-greenwich: great class times before and after work, easy online sign up and inexpensive packages.

Now I need to spruce up my workout wardrobe!

We have an exciting new restaurant opening in Greenwich - Harvest Wine Bar & Restaurant at 372 Greenwich Ave opened on Friday to excellent reviews. Harvest is the latest venture by the owners of Scena in Darien, Cave in New Canaan and 55 Degrees in Fairfield (some personal favorites!)

I'm looking forward to trying the Short Rib Mac & Cheese, Grilled Calamari with Whipped Avocado and Shaved Jalapeno, Ricotta Gnocchi with Bolognese, Scallops with a Scallion Mash and the Harvest Burger - with bacon, crispy onions, smoked tomato mayo, Grafton cheddar on an English muffin with everything-spice fries, yes please!

Swell Bottle

Is one of your new years resolutions to drink more water? Mine always is! But I find I'm constantly drinking out of old plastic water bottles at my desk and when the weekend rolls around I'm always water-less and desperately thirsty by early afternoon. I've never been a fan of traditional water bottles due to their bulky size and huge mouth openings but the look of this one has really caught my eye and I think it will inspire me to drink my 60oz of water a day! My favorite aspect is that the bottle look like a wine bottle, so chic - and they even make larger sizes to hold chilled wine for picnics or boat rides. Streamlined bottles (17oz) fit in car cup holders but have a wide enough mouth opening to allow for ice. No more canteen style water bottles necessary! They even make a 9oz size for lunch boxes or little drinkers.

I love these matte styles - the hot pink has my name on it for sure!
750ml to keep your favorite wine chilled or tote a warm bottle of hot coco!
A special valentines day package:

Fresh Direct

I feel like I might be late to this train but I've just subscribed to Fresh Direct and its amazing! If you haven't joined yet I highly recommend it. Some afternoons there is nothing more fun than wondering down every aisle in the super market dreaming up meals to make for the upcoming week. Other nights after a weekend away and a long day back at work the very last thing on earth that I want to do is go grocery shopping. In comes Fresh Direct! Log on and start shopping - order by 5pm and your order could be at your door as early as 6am the next day! You can create a list for weekly basics, specific recipes, party ideas or shop off your old orders so you could be in and out in minutes. Going out of town? Enter your order on a Friday, choose a scheduled delivery of 6-8am on Monday morning and you'll wake up to a weeks worth of groceries! You can also get two months of free delivery as a first time subscriber. I'll still enjoy my Sunday trips to the store but when we're out of town this is 100% my new go to. This time I went for basics but I'm looking forward to trying some of their pre-made foods, fresh pastas, marinated meats and meal kits. This is also amazing for new moms, have all your groceries delivered so no one has to worry about going to the store, and stock up on ready to heat meals so no one had to worry about cooking!

www.freshdirect.com/invite/adarekiely - shop through this link and receive $25 off your first order. And be sure to sign up for the two months of free shipping!

Voila! Packaged by fresh foods or grocery items. Right to your door.

A quick Monday night meal - healthy chicken parm, whole wheat pasta and broccoli

I'm hoping to order up a bunch of specialty items next time to start testing our Ina's new recipes

I'm also loving following one of my favorite bloggers, Jenny Steffens, as she does "A Month with the Barefoot Contessa". Read about the recipes she has cooked thus far. Barefoot Contessa Project

Ideas for Your Valentine

Need something for your valentine who has everything? I love this idea from the beautiful new Winston Flowers on Greenwich Avenue. Treat them to "Design of the Month Club" where they will receive a beautiful arrangement of seasonal flowers for three, six or twelve months. Options include $90 or $120 per month (plus tax). What's better than amazing fresh flowers once a month vs some traditional long stem red roses on valentines day. I'd take these beauties any day - no red roses for this girl!

Just looking for a one time arrangement instead? Stop by to visit them at
